FAQs:
1) Do I need to know how to row to take the class? Absolutely not. This class is designed for the person who has never touched an oar. You do not need to do anything to prepare for the class either.
2) Do I need to buy equipment?
Other than your athletic clothing (that is not too loose fitting) and some bottles of water to carry in the boat, you will not have to purchase anything else. Capital Rowing Club provides all the equipment you will need. 3) What if I am out of town one weekend or have to miss a class?
Don't worry - it happens. Just tell the coach that you missed class the week before and he will make sure that you are up to speed with whatever you have missed from the previous class. 4) What happens after the class?
Capital Rowing Club offers different sweep programs that should meet your needs. We will have representatives from each program come down one day during the class to talk to you about the different options. For a preview, please check out our programs online, and see what we offer. 5) Is there a cancellation policy?
Because of the limited space in each of the classes, once the class begins, we cannot offer a refund. However, if you need to cancel before the class begins, please contact the novice program coordinator at learntorow@capitalrowing.org. 6) I see that the class I want to take is full - is there a waiting list?
Yes there is. Please email our novice program coordinator at learntorow@capitalrowing.org and ask to be placed on the list. Please be aware that the classes are filling up quickly, and so if one of the later classes works with your schedule, consider registering for that class. You can still be placed on the waitlist and if something opens up in the class that you prefer, the coordinator will let you know. 7) Do I need to take the first novice class in order to take the other ones?
No. Each class is self-contained. Just pick the class that best fits your schedule.
8) What if I have other questions.
Please email the novice program coordinator - learntorow@capitalrowing.org.
