Upcoming Events

Capital Adaptive's Fall Season began on August 27. Athletes are now training for fall head races, including the Head of the Anacostia in September, and the Head of the Ohio and the Head of the Charles in October.

The Program

In keeping with its proud tradition of community involvement, Capital Rowing Club started the Capital Adaptive Rowing Program in 2009.Now in its third full year, the Program’s focus is introducing adaptive athletes to recreational and competitive rowing, both in sweep and sculling boats.

Capital Adaptive has been working closely with its partners – the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Rehabilitation Hospital, and the U.S. Olympic Committee Paralympic Sport Program– to build a program to serve the Washington area’s population of disabled military veterans and civilians. In a very short amount of time, we are able to get our athletes on the water to enjoy the rehabilitative benefits of rowing.
